Western Plains Interclub 2015

Let me start by saying I was only there for the Sunday.

Great day of shooting and just basically socialising with members from all the W.A. clubs. It was great to be able to just hang out and talk archery, shoot some arrows and hear amazing Elk hunting stories thanks to Tina putting Nat from Western Plains in my group.
WPA INTERCLUB
I personally want to commend Western Plains on having 2 amazingly fun courses to shoot. The first course on the hills north of the club house was especially challenging due to the up and down nature of some of the shots, something we from Southwest Bowmen don’t have all that much practice at.  I also liked the way this course was layed out with walk throughs instead of walk backs. It makes the course flow much better and is something that with GPS in hand I will be endevouring to see if SWB can implement on one of our sides.

Second course south of the club house was a great course to shoot as well and I can see that the course setters work very hard there to keep them interesting. Target 17 which is the flattest target on the whole of the WPA grounds though can go jump in a lake. Deceptively longer than it looks cost me my only MISS for the day!

So onto results. Great shooting by a lot of people made the results pretty close but SWB stepped up to line and did what we do best by winning a few divisions!

  • Bowhunter Unlimited B – 1st Cameron Van Veen
  •  Mens Compound B – 1st Ken Neill
  • Mens Compound A – 1st Jeff Taylor

We also placed a 2nd in Bowhunter Unlimited B by myself and Jeff Evans shot a 762 so is now shooting A grade. This would have given him a 3rd in A grade if he had been graded.

Well with that one over the next one will be Peel on the 21st and 22nd of March!

See you all there!
