Branch J Bowhunting Report.

The following was taken directly from the Branch Newsletter. Please take the time to read it.

With 2013 bowhunting season finishing on the 31st of December 2013, you only have to the end of February to get any late game claims in to your Club Game Recorded and to myself. Remember all game claims need to be to your club game recorder and then sent to myself within 3 months of taking game.
I have just started sorting out 2013 Branch game records and I am very impressed with the number of game recorded in the Branch for last year, with another 20% increase in total game recorded and the most different species ever recorded in the branch in a hunting year.

This is great effort from those hunters that claimed game last year.
On a disappointing note, it concerns me that some of our members in our branch are out bowhunting and are taking game and do not record them in our system. We need game taken recorded for numbers to protect our sport, these numbers are very important to prove that ABA members are removing feral animals from our bush.

For anybody not sure how to claim game or the process for becoming Bowhunter Proficient, please see your club BPC officer, club measurer, president or go onto ABA website, click on the Bowhunting icon. All our information is on their, including the game claim forms.

In May this year Doug Bourman {Branch Bowhunting Instructor} and myself are going to Brisbane for the National BPC and Measurers training, after we complete the reaccreditation we will be organize a training weekend in August or September to train your club BPC offers and measurers and a backup for both positions.

Over the next few months I will confirm dates and venue for the training weekend and give the clubs plenty of notice to organize their candidates to fill these roles and attend the training.

2013 Bowhunting Awards will be presented at WPA interclub shoot on the Saturday afternoon after the 3D shoot, bring your trophies and hunting related items for display. Come along and support you bowhunters and see what you can achieve in our Branch and at ABA level in bowhunting.

I have attached an updated copy of our Branch Bowhunting System and ABA {national} bowhunting award system that includes the history and information on TBA.
